This artwork delves into the disconnection between the audience and the piece by taking an everyday object, the poker card, and removing its figures to present to the audience. The objective is to bridge the gap between the image and its audience, emphasizing the act of connection and filling that void.
Inspired by the perspective of artist Olafur Eliasson, who once remarked, "The surroundings reflect your emotional need," the artwork aims to create an environment that elicits specific emotional responses from the audience.
In the words of Marcel Duchamp, "The creative act is not performed by the artist alone; the spectator brings the work in contact with the external world by deciphering and interpreting its inner qualifications and thus adds his contribution to the creative act." This sentiment underscores the collaborative nature of art, where the audience's interpretation plays a crucial role in the overall creative experience.
The artist's work centers around the craft of environments that encourage individuals to perceive, reflect upon, and contemplate their surroundings.
